To create the most fluid approach timing, concentrate on balancing your body and on creating a build up of momentum. Here are some elements to experiment with:
On your first step, bring the bowling ball back in alignment with your bowling arm side foot, concentrating on keeping it over the foot.
On your second step, let the ball swing back naturally. Forget about your feet and just feel the swing. It’s as if that foot concentration times the ball into it’s swing.
On your third step stay on your push off foot for a long time…waiting for the ball to come through.

Practice adjusting your speed to match the lane you’re bowling on. Cultivate speed control in more and more minute levels. Be able to pull a certain speed out like you were taking it out of your pocket. The theme is flexibility and the speed of your ball, swing, timing should have several settings. The more the better.

Practice walking left and walking right and having a straight walk. Practice open and closed shoulders. Practice adjusting speeds. Have at least three different approach timings. Practice playing different parts of the lane. Flexibility is power.
Cultivate three or four releases, all of which work well. For a stretch, intentionally put yourself in poor conditions and practice bowling well under them.
